Grey is to South Australia what Kalgoorlie is to Western Australia, accounting for the vast majority of the state - all but the densely populated south east corner. See AEC state map.

Held by the ALP for all but three years between 1949 and 1993. Redistributions over the last decade have favoured the Coalition by over five percent, but the graph shows that even under current boundaries Labor would have held the seat 1984 - 1990, so something else accounts for today's big Liberal margin.

Contains the notorious Snowtown.
