Electorates by
decade swing
|
Two
party preferred aggregate swings from the 1993 election result to that in
2001.
On each line is the seat name,
state, current margin, AEC
Geographic category and ten year swing.
This
is from Keating's final 1993 win to last year's result. Seats at the top
of the table were biggest movers to the Coalition. (movement
in purple). At bottom are those that have moved to the ALP; their
numbers are green.
Seats
that have changed hands in last decade begin with an asterisk *.
Labor's
1993 result was excellent, they emerged with 33 out of 50 seats (they hold
19 there today). So NSW predominates the top, including the outer suburban
terrible trio of Hughes,
Lindsay
and Macarthur.
But notice that the change is a state rather than specifically Sydney
phenomenon.
Of
the few that have moved towards Labor (at bottom), Tasmania and, to a
lesser extent Victoria and WA, are over-represented.
